A well-established, multi-studio architecture and design practice is looking for a Submissions & Marketing Manager to bring structure, consistency and forward planning to how the business pursues and wins work.
With studios across the country and a project portfolio spanning government, healthcare, science and aged care , this practice delivers work that genuinely matters, from complex, highly regulated builds through to major infrastructure. Submissions here aren't just paperwork; they're the gateway to projects worth millions of dollars and real impact for the communities they serve.
This is a newly shaped role, created because the business knows it can do submissions better and wants someone to lead that change.
Key Responsibilities
Submissions leadership:
- Lead and support the submissions team across all studios nationally
- Build a genuine asset library of templates, methodology statements and case studies, so great content is never rewritten from scratch
- Manage a mixed pipeline of quick-turnaround proposals through to major, multi-million-dollar bids
- Sit at the table for go/no-go decisions, bringing a considered view on what's worth pursuing
- Replace reactive, last-minute scrambling with a calm, consistent, repeatable process
- Own the forward-looking marketing work that often gets crowded out by live deadlines
- Keep a finger on the pulse of the sectors this practice serves, spotting opportunities in funding cycles, budgets and market trends before they land in an inbox
- Help shape the practice's profile ahead of a dedicated business development hire joining the team
- Champion better use of the practice's CRM, improving data quality and adoption across studios
- Build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders in every studio, offering assurance that process is being followed and deadlines are being met
- Proven experience leading submissions, bids or tenders, ideally within architecture, design or the broader built environment
- Background across government, healthcare or similarly regulated sectors highly regarded
- Comfortable juggling multiple live submissions of very different scale and complexity
- Naturally organised, measured and unflappable, even when deadlines are tight
- A process-builder who brings others along, rather than someone who works around the system
- Curious about the market, with the initiative to flag a relevant opportunity before anyone asks
This is a rare chance to shape a function from the ground up, within a practice that's serious about design excellence, with genuine autonomy to fix what hasn't worked, build what's been missing, and be trusted with a seat at the table when it comes to deciding what the business goes after next.
