Reporting directly to the Executive Manager Visitor Economy, you'll be mentored by an experienced industry leader. Leading a passionate marketing team, you'll drive the development and execution of integrated marketing, PR, communications and brand campaigns that position Ballarat and the broader Tourism Midwest Victoria region as a must-visit destination.
This is a role for a leader who enjoys balancing strategy with execution. Someone who can inspire a team, manage stakeholders, oversee significant budgets, guide agency partners and still jump on the tools when required.
No two days are the same. One week you could be launching a destination campaign, the next working alongside tourism operators, analysing campaign performance, supporting major events or developing new brand initiatives that drive visitation and economic impact across the region.

What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing marketing team
- Driving integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns from concept through to execution
- Managing significant marketing budgets and ensuring strong return on investment
- Leading brand strategy and destination marketing initiatives
- Overseeing agency partners and external suppliers
- Providing strategic marketing advice to senior stakeholders and regional partners
- Using insights, analytics and visitor data to inform decision making
- Building strong relationships with industry, media, government and tourism stakeholders
- Supporting the delivery of long-term visitor economy and tourism strategies

You know how to build trust, create momentum and bring out the best in a team. You combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach and have a track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns that achieve measurable outcomes.
You'll bring:
- Min 3 years experience leading and developing marketing, communications or brand teams
- Strong campaign management and project delivery expertise
- Experience managing budgets, agencies and multiple stakeholder groups
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A passion for data, insights and continuous improvement
- A collaborative leadership style that inspires confidence and accountability
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field
- Hybrid working arrangement (3 days Ballarat office, 2 days WFH)
