A Night to Remember: The New Chapter Talent Christmas Party 2025 Wrap-Up

Annie Salter • December 11, 2025

Celebrating community, connection, and a cause close to our hearts.

There’s nothing quite like ending the year with great people, good energy, and a rooftop glowing with festive cheer — and this year’s New Chapter Talent Christmas Party delivered all of that and more.

On 10 December, we welcomed 70 of Melbourne’s finest marketers to The Imperial rooftop for an evening of networking, celebration, and community spirit. As a marketing recruitment agency that proudly champions talent across Australia and New Zealand, bringing the industry together is one of our favourite things to do — and this night was a standout highlight of 2025.

Raising $2,000 for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation

This year’s event wasn’t just about clinking glasses and celebrating another big year in marketing.

Every ticket purchased contributed to raising $2,000 for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, a cause incredibly close to the New Chapter Talent team.

We're so grateful to everyone who attended, donated, or supported the raffle. Your generosity genuinely makes a difference.

An Electric Rooftop Atmosphere

From the moment doors opened, the rooftop was buzzing. Marketers from brand, digital, content, CX, and product roles all came together — creating a brilliant mix of new introductions and familiar faces reconnecting.

There were conversations about new roles, marketing trends, funny 2025 campaign stories, and everything in between. It was exactly what we love to see: a thriving marketing community supporting each other and celebrating the year that was.

A Huge Thank You to Our Prize Sponsors

The raffle was a highlight of the night, and we’re incredibly thankful for the businesses who generously donated prizes:

And of course — congratulations to our very lucky winners:

A Community We’re Proud to Support

2025 was a huge year for the marketing industry — and for New Chapter Talent. From supporting candidates into new roles, to partnering with incredible clients across Australia and New Zealand, to launching events and community initiatives… we’re grateful for every moment.

And nights like this remind us why we do what we do.

The marketing community is collaborative, generous, and full of brilliant humans — and we’re proud to play our part in bringing people together.

What’s Next?

As we gear up for 2026, we’re already planning new events, more opportunities for marketers to connect, and fresh ways to support talent and businesses across ANZ.

If you’re a marketer looking for your next role, or a business searching for exceptional marketing talent, we’re here to help you start your next chapter.

Here’s to a magical Christmas, a well-deserved break, and an exciting year ahead.

Thank you for making our Christmas Party such a memorable night.

Marketing leaders across Australia are facing a growing challenge: not a lack of talent, but a lack of capacity and clarity. With leaner teams, rising expectations, and constant AI disruption, many marketing functions are stretched too thin. The CMOs navigating this well aren’t doing more — they’re getting sharper on priorities, structure, and where they need support.

Hiring hasn’t stopped — but expectations, budgets, and timelines are out of sync. The businesses making great hires right now are clear, realistic, and decisive. The ones struggling are chasing “unicorns,” overcomplicating roles, or moving too slowly. Meanwhile, candidates are prioritising impact, stability, and leadership over hype.

I’ve had a growing number of conversations with marketers who are excited about securing a higher salary - but surprised by the pace, pressure, and expectations that come with it. In my experience, salary isn’t just a reward for experience; it’s a signal of output, speed, and accountability. When expectations and capability aren’t aligned upfront, that’s when things start to unravel on both sides. Here’s what I wish more candidates and hiring managers talked about before the offer is signed.
